FaithAdults

At Faith, our adult ministries are focused on providing opportunities for adults to grow stronger in their faith, through discipleship, mentoring, encouragement, and instruction in God’s Word, all while building lasting friendships along the way! A variety of adult ministries meet throughout the week, including Sunday mornings. In all these ministries, adults are challenged to dig into God’s Word, learn truth, and become more like Him in everyday life. We invite you to explore the life Christ has for you as we grow together through these ministries.

Be sure to join us in a small group setting for Adult Life Groups on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights or throughout the week.  There is a group available for every age and life stage!

FaithKids

In Deuteronomy 11:18-19 God instructs us to “fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds: tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up…” God has mandated parents to provide a Biblical foundation for their children. It is through that foundation that children are enabled to stand firm as they grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and prepares them to live and serve with a transforming influence within their communities. We desire to partner with families on this journey, helping to equip and train children to think and act Biblically in all areas of life within a safe and loving environment.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me….” (Matthew 19:14)

Children truly are a gift from God and we as parents are obligated to love and fear the Lord. We at Faith believe even the youngest ages can learn about God’s love and grace.

Our nurseries serve children ages 3 months to 3 years. We separate children into 5 different age groups and provide age appropriate activities and instruction during both church services. For the 2 and 3 year old children, a Sunday School lesson is taught involving a Bible story and songs. We are committed to providing a safe, friendly, healthy environment for all workers and children.

We have a wonderful group of volunteers who are assembled to serve your children. What a blessing it is to love and nurture the next generation of God’s people.

FaithWorship

Adoration is love given with deep affection. The Latin word adōrātiō, means “to give homage or worship to someone or something”.  Worship expressed through music and corporate singing is one of the ways we show our adoration for God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Worship is our response to God for what he has already done for us. We come together as a family to worship God corporately, and to experience His presence. This gathering results in a refreshing time where we can look at what God has done for us and how He has changed our lives.

We have two 70-minute Sunday services that are designed to give God glory through music, offerings, preaching and other forms of media, all centered in God’s word.

FaithHelps

When we serve others we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in our world.  Whether helping in our children’s ministry, or going on a missions trip, the experience will deepen our relationship with Jesus, and at the same time help others deepen their relationship with Jesus. We are focused on being a bridge to help people from all walks of life grow closer in their relationship to Christ. Our prayer is that others  will sense how much God loves them, and that we do too.  Ministering to those in need is as an act of worship, whether that need is material or spiritual.

Need Help?

If you are facing a challenge, a complex life situation, or you just need someone to talk to there are people who want to help.  Help is available through the programs below, as well as in a Life Group community.  For more information please contact Pastor Bob at pastorbob@faithcrossroads.org.

This ministry helps fund people in need of financial help and aid.

Our Member Care ministry specifically focuses on our church members.  Member needs are addressed by elders and deacons as they arise.

Every other month on the third Thursday a team of volunteers from Faith serves the evening meal at the City Mission.  A brief time of devotion is held prior to the meal, and then the meal is served.  This is a wonderful way to show Jesus’ love to those who receive a meal at the mission.

The Visitation Ministry extends care and encouragement to those who are homebound due to health, age, or special circumstances.

The Grief Ministry supports and encourages those who have lost a loved one by supplying support, reading materials and notes of encouragement to family members who are grieving.

Sowers of faith brings together women who enjoy sewing, knitting and crocheting, to use their gifts to meet the needs of others.  Currently, there are several groups meeting throughout the month to make comfort quilts, sew dresses for orphans, work on knitting or crocheting or work on wool applique.  Please contact the church office or Maria Rao for more information.

The Faith Food Pantry is a local outreach ministry providing food, paper products, detergent, and personal hygiene items.  All are welcome to visit the pantry Fridays from 9am-12pm, and our friendly volunteers will be happy to help you.  Please bring a form of ID.

FaithMissions

We are a “great commission” church.  Jesus commanded, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel!”  We have the best news.

Our Lord describes the sphere of outreach to “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth.”  This means we are responsible for local impact and global outreach. Our ministry style is “partnership” (Philippians 1:4-6).  We do not serve alone, but in relationships with others who share our mission and vision!

Our family, neighbors, friends and co-workers are our “Jerusalem.” Our “Samaria” encompasses our neighboring Schenectady where we partner with the City Mission, Youth for Christ, Alpha Pregnancy Care Center, Hope Prison Ministry and local churches.

However, our mission does not stop there. We are passionate about sharing the Good News around the world with missionary partners in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.  Jesus said, “ALL THE WORLD”!

“Faith Baptist Church exists to glorify God, equip believers, and reach the lost for Christ as we: Kneel before God, Stand for Truth, and Walk with Others.”
