Peter Mason, Senior Pastor

As Senior Pastor at Faith, I am dedicated to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. I believe God has entrusted me with the gift of pastor-teacher “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12, ESV). The Apostle Paul reminds us that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV).

In preparation for this ministry I studied at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois and graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology. During college I completed residential studies at Jerusalem International University in Israel where I had the opportunity to experience the land of the Bible. I continued studies at Wheaton College Graduate School and earned an M.A. in New Testament Exegesis.

Then, I earned a Master of Theology degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary where I especially enjoyed learning the original languages of the Bible—Hebrew and Greek. I completed a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Theology at Denver Seminary with my project focusing on Leadership Development through Mentoring.

I am active in preaching and teaching at Faith including preaching regularly at our three worship services—two on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday evening—as well as midweek Bible studies. You may listen to sermons through this website.

I have been teaching biblical and worldview courses at the college and seminary level for over twenty years. You may hear me teach in our community at the Northeast Branch of MidAmerica Baptist Theological Seminary, at the Consortium in partnership with Roberts Wesleyan College, and at Mekeel Christian Academy in partnership with Davis College.

Bob Port, Executive Pastor

I joined Faith’s pastoral staff in 1990 working with youth and children’s ministries because I sensed God’s call to make disciples in the local church. I now oversee all of our adult ministries such as Adult Bible Fellowships and small groups as well as Men’s ministries and Women’s ministries. As the Executive Pastor, I oversee helping the entire church family put into practice God’s vision for our church.

I enjoy the outdoors. I earned a Wildlife Management degree from West Virginia University and a Master’s of Divinity from Trinity Divinity School. My wife, Julianne, and I have a daughter, Jess, at Gordon College and a son, Zack, at Syracuse University. In my spare time I enjoy woodworking and camping with the family.

Paul Taddeo, Worship and Media Arts

I am convinced that through a series of current events in my life that God is pursuing me. Ministry in Adoration at Faith is a means to testify to His wonderful work and grace in my life. The process of leading others into worship has been a calling on my life. I hope to continue in His work for as long as I am able and I hope to press on toward the goal set before me.

There is no doubt in my mind that God has placed a passion within me to lead His people to experience God’s presence through musical worship. I find it both humbling and empowering to serve in ministry as a child of God. In every way, my ministry is an outlet to make God known to believers and those looking for meaning in life.

I received my education at Messiah College, majoring in church music and minoring in business. I am married to Kathryn, my beautiful wife of ten years, and together we have two wonderful children, Sienna and Colden. I remain committed first and foremost to my family. They are my current and future support system and where I find great joy. I am so thankful for who they are and what they bring to the family to make it what it is.

David Lederer, Student Ministry Director

Mr. David Lederer graduated cum laude from Corcordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice in 2003. He has continued his education, taking classes at Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido, California and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, toward a Master’s of Divinity. He also received a Family Development Credential from Cornell University and was credentialed in Bridges Out of Poverty (a City Mission program) curriculum working with families.

Dave has worked at the Schenectady City Mission for almost 11 years as Director of Community Development Housing where he was involved in one-on-one discipleship and counseling to youth and young adults, preaching, teaching and discipling. He also managed the 24 housing units, trained young adults and youth staff, created curriculum, coordinated projects and volunteer teams, ministered to families, and held weekly prayer groups.

Dave’s past ministry experience includes serving as the Minor League ValleyCats’ chaplain for a season and leading college and young adults at Grace Chapel with his wife, Jen (who is currently a third grade teacher at Mekeel Christian Academy). There Dave mentored young adults and youth at his home, led marriage counseling for young adults and taught Sunday school. Prior to moving to New York, Dave served as an eighth grade teacher at Light and Life Christian School in Escondido, California and was the head boys coach. Before that he served as Director of New Beginnings Youth Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Betsy D’Errico, Children’s Program Director

I grew up in Florida and went to Northeastern University in Boston where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I also received my “Mrs.” degree when I married Rick just out of college! Most importantly, I became a Christian in college after learning of God’s forgiveness and love for me.

Rick and I have two children, Grace and Zachary. When they were attending Our Savior’s Lutheran School, I worked in the library where I enjoyed working with the students and school staff for seven years.

My family has been attending Faith Baptist since 2001. We have served in ministry together in the nursery, Children’s Church, Awana, and college-age ministries. We have also served as a family in missions locally and in Uganda and Ukraine. Before kids, Rick and I went on a mission trip to China to bring Bibles to the underground church. I have served on the Impact Team and together with Rick I am currently serving on the Marriage Ministry Team as mentors.

I am grateful for salvation through Jesus and want to serve Him in all I do! I am honored and privileged to be able to serve our church family.
