Peter Mason, Senior Pastor
As Senior Pastor at Faith, I am dedicated to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. I believe God has entrusted me with the gift of pastor-teacher “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12, ESV). The Apostle Paul reminds us that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV).
In preparation for this ministry I studied at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois and graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology. During college I completed residential studies at Jerusalem International University in Israel where I had the opportunity to experience the land of the Bible. I continued studies at Wheaton College Graduate School and earned an M.A. in New Testament Exegesis.
Then, I earned a Master of Theology degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary where I especially enjoyed learning the original languages of the Bible—Hebrew and Greek. I completed a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Theology at Denver Seminary with my project focusing on Leadership Development through Mentoring.
I am active in preaching and teaching at Faith including preaching regularly at our three worship services—two on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday evening—as well as midweek Bible studies. You may listen to sermons through this website.
I have been teaching biblical and worldview courses at the college and seminary level for over twenty years. You may hear me teach in our community at the Northeast Branch of MidAmerica Baptist Theological Seminary, at the Consortium in partnership with Roberts Wesleyan College, and at Mekeel Christian Academy in partnership with Davis College.
