Our Mission

Faith Church is a loving congregation of believers in the greater capital region, NY. We are committed to sharing the good news locally, regionally and globally. We seek to make disciples who grow in their relationship with God, are transformed to be more like Christ, and display his character by proclaiming the Good News.

We are a “great commission” church.  Jesus commanded, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel!”  We have the best news.

Our Lord describes the sphere of outreach to “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth.”  This means we are responsible for local impact and global outreach. Our ministry style is “partnership” (Philippians 1:4-6).  We do not serve alone, but in relationships with others who share our mission and vision!

Our family, neighbors, friends and co-workers are our “Jerusalem.” Our “Samaria” encompasses our neighboring Schenectady where we partner with the City Mission, Youth for Christ, Alpha Pregnancy Care Center, Hope Prison Ministry and local churches.

However, our mission does not stop there. We are passionate about sharing the Good News around the world with missionary partners in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.  Jesus said, “ALL THE WORLD”!

Helping Others

When we serve others we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in our world.   Whether it is helping in our children’s ministry or going on a missions trip the experience will deepen our relationship with Jesus and at the same time help others deepen their relationship with Jesus.

  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

Need Help?

When you are facing a challenge, complex life situation, or you just need someone to talk there are services and people who want to help. We are here to encourage you as you walk though this life as you strive to be like Jesus. You can find help through the programs below as well as other places Youth and Small Groups.

Helping is a connecting point ministry. Our focus is on being a bridge to help people from all walks of life grow closer to Christ. Our prayer is that those with whom we come into contact feel that God loves them and that we at Faith want to come alongside them. As we minister to those who have need, whether material or spiritual, it is as an act of worship.

Faith Food Pantry is a local outreach ministry providing food, paper products, detergent, and personal hygiene items.  Everyone in the area is welcome to visit the pantry when they are in need.  The Pantry is open every Friday from 9am-12pm and is staffed by our friendly volunteers.

This group supports adoptive and foster families as they answer God’s call to help waiting children.  Whether you are an adoptive or foster family or would just like to come alongside, this may be of interest to you.

This ministry helps fund people in need of financial help and aid.

City Mission Meal Service

Faith provides people to serve the evening meal, the third Thursday every other month.  One person does a brief devotional prior to the meal then the meal is served.  This is a wonderful way to show Jesus’ love to those who receive a meal at the mission.

This ministry exists to extend care and encouragement to those who are not able to connect as readily in fellowship due to health, age, or special circumstances.

Manna Meals

This ministry offers a meal, daily or every other day for a specified period of time when there is a hospitalization or other serious need within a family.

Grief Care

Grief ministry’s goal is to support those who have lost a loved one by supplying support, reading materials and notes of encouragement to family members.

Two groups meet once a month to sew dresses for orphans and to make quilts for those in need of physical or emotional comfort.

Knitting Ministry meets to fellowship while using their knitting talents to make items for area ministries.

More Ways to Connect

Adult Ministries are a collection of ministries focused on providing opportunities for adults to grow stronger in their faith. This is accomplished through discipleship, mentoring, encouragement, and instruction in God’s Word, all while building lasting friendships along the way! A variety of Adult Ministries meet not only on Sunday but throughout the week as well. In all these ministries, adults are challenged to dig into God’s Word, learn truth, and become more like Him in everyday life, while being compelled to introduce others to Him. We invite you to explore the life Christ has for you as we grow together in these ministries.

Be sure to join us in a small group setting for Faith Bible Classes on Sunday mornings or in Faith Small Groups throughout the week – there are ways to get involved and go to the next level available for every life stage and age level!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me….” (Matthew 19:14)

Children truly are a gift from God and we as parents are obligated to love and fear the Lord. We at Faith believe even the youngest ages can learn about God’s love and grace.

Our nurseries serve children ages 3 months to 3 years. We separate children into 5 different age groups and provide age appropriate activities and instruction during both church services. For the 2 and 3 year old children, a Sunday School lesson is taught involving a Bible story and songs. We are committed to providing a safe, friendly, healthy environment for all workers and children.

We have a wonderful group of volunteers who are assembled to serve your children. What a blessing it is to love and nurture the next generation of God’s people.

In Deuteronomy 11:18-19 God instructs us to “fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds: tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up…” God has mandated parents to provide a Biblical foundation for their children. It is through that foundation that children are enabled to stand firm as they grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and prepares them to live and serve with a transforming influence within their communities. We desire to partner with families on this journey, helping to equip and train children to think and act Biblically in all areas of life within a safe and loving environment.

The mission of FaithStudents  ministry is to equip and encourage students (Junior High, Senior High, College and Career) to love and know Jesus.  We connect with Jesus through the Bible and then apply what we are learning by living out our faith. (Colossians 1:9-10)

FaithStudents 7-12th grade meets on Sunday mornings at 10 am for teaching, fellowship and breakfast. We also meet on Wednesday nights 6:30-8:00 pm when school is in session as part of Faith’s Family Worship Night.

“Any Mom, Any Age, Any Stage, we all either need a mom figure or can be one in some else’s life.”

Ladies will have the option to choose from these studies for the Fall 2019 semester: Who Do You Say that I AM? A Fresh Encounter for Deeper Faith by Becky Harling; He Speaks to Me: Preparing to Hear from God by Priscilla Shirer; Angels: What the Bible Teaches About Angels; and a Parenting study, using Parenting with Love and Logic for the first half of the semester and Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp for the second half.

FaithMoms is a group of ladies who love Jesus and seek God to know Him more and honor Him in all we do. Through various Bible study topics that change each semester, we cover themes such as holiness, women of the Bible, parenting, and specific books of the Bible. We offer childcare each week for children from 6 weeks – 5 years old.

“We desire to teach our children to honor Jesus and others.”

FaithMoms also realize that we need one another as moms to encourage each other in this journey. We meet weekly and seek to support, love, encourage, and pray for one another. We love to share ideas that work, have fun together, gain feedback from each other, support one another through struggles and grow together.

At the same time as FaithMoms children ages 6 weeks – 5 years old are able to attend our FaithKids program. There your child is given the opportunity to play, participate in a Bible-based story time, make crafts, sing songs, and have a snack. All under the loving care of our FaithKids staff.

Developing Authentic Relationships with Self, God, and Others

He brings shalom — peace, wholeness, restoration, and realness to relationships. This class will focus on helping individuals better see relationships and offer practical skills and ways to take steps toward working out redemption with ourselves (relationship with our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors), God, and others.
